Happy Thoughts

I hope that you are having a wonderful July 4th holiday! I'm excited to say that Stampin' Ups! new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog went live a few days ago - I love so many of the samples and supplies available in the catalog this year. I would love to have a workshop with you and your guests to share some ideas... simply email me at june@mycreativecorner.com so that we can get your party scheduled today!

The card I'm sharing above is using the new Hostess set, Apple Blossoms. I had some leftover pieces of the retired Urban Oasis DSP on hand, and thought they would make a nice background for a card project. I layered a couple of blocks with black cardstock, and set them aside while I worked on my main panel. I stamped the large Apple Blossoms flower and stem in Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke inks directly onto the DSP piece, and layered this with white and black cardstocks. I stamped the sentiment in Bravo Burgundy, then added a knotted piece of grograin ribbon. My side panel has an additional DSP strip edged with the Scallop edge punch, with several silver brads inserted to add alittle something fun to that area. The pieces were assembled on a white cardbase.

My family is looking forward to fireworks tonight - although each of them would be happy without the 105 degree temps today (gotta admit that it's better than the normal 110-115 degrees this time of year though!). Be safe out there, and come again soon...

Another great card! How have you been June? I've really been slacking and need to get back into the bloggin' scene. Take care and thanks for the comments you leave me. Happy 4th!
