3D butterfly

Hi everyone! I've been away far too long... It's interesting how when life gets really busy, we tend to push away the things that keep us sane! For me, it was gardening and scrapbooking. My garden looks very tired with the summer heat and I really am so behind with scrapbooking - I really haven't touched it for months. A friend just started blogging, and we touched on the need to "just do it"! You've gotta see Sheri's - she's a natural blogger and is very creative! It's found at http://www.littleblackscrapcat.blogspot.com/.

Today's card was put together using Apricot Appeal, Purely Pomegranate and white. I used Stampin' Up's Priceless set embossed in clear embossing powder. The butterfly was stamped 3 times and it's wings were cut out and adhered at the body with a rolled up (thin) glue dot. The ribbon is retired Purely Pomegranate ribbon and I really just love this color! A very simple card to put together, but a fun one!

Have a super day!

Black and White

Here's a card made earlier in the year for my workshop display board. I think there's something clean and elegant about black & white cards. I love the way you can make black & white interesting just by varying the contrast elements. This one uses two of Stampin' Up's background stamps - paisley and canvas. The main panel is stamped with the flower from a SU set called True Friend. I finished it off with ribbon, brads and a crystal glued in the flower's center for sparkle. I hope this card inspires you to try a black & white card - they are fun and oh-so-easy to do!
